High Officials Must Make a Decision with Respect to Khavaran Cemetery

The Center for Human Rights Defense issued a media statement in light of news regarding the destruction of Khavaran cemetery. The cemetery is known as the burial site for many Islamic Republic political prisoners executed in the eighties, especially in 1988. In the statement, the Center placed an emphasis on honoring those who have died and said it is the moral duty of everyone, including government authorities, to honor the dead, and demanded that authorities in high offices make a decision and act with respect in the reconstruction of Khavaran cemetery.
