Tens of Prisoners in Rajaei Shahr Prison Have Refused to Receive Food in Protest against Treatment by Prison Authorities

Tens of prisoners in Rajaei Shahr prison have refused to accept food in a sign of protest against ill treatment by prison authorities.
 
230 prisoners in Hall 16 and Section 6 of Rajaei Shahr Prison in the city of Karaj have been collectively punished for a confrontation that took place between prison authorities and a number of prisoners in that section.  The prisoners have been denied visiting rights by an order issued by prison authorities.  Also, seasonal clothing received from family members has not been delivered to the prisoners.  Prisoners are forced to appear in the prison courtyard between the hours of 6 and 9 am for fresh air during the winter season. 
 
Political prisoners stationed in this section of prison include: Haroun Davani, Mehdi Zalieh, Behzad Sheikhi, Khaled Feraydoni, Mohammad-Sadigh Fazli, Arkan Gol-Takinand and Karim Marouf.
 
Prisoners in this section are collectively refusing to receive food in a sign of protest against the imposed limitations.
