Bahai Student Expelled

By IHRV | September 29, 2009

In a continued banning of Bahaei Students from Iran’s universities, Yasamin Janfada, a resident of the port city Langeh in Hormuzegan province, was expelled from the university.

Ms. Janfada had completed five terms in the field of Industrial Management in Bander Abas University before she was expelled for the sole reason that she is an adherent of Bahaei religion.

After the 1980 Cultural Revolution, Bahaei students were banned from Iranian universities, and only when ‘religion adherence’ was removed from the university’s application forms in 2004 were some allowed to return, but later many of these students were also expelled.  Other students with passing qualification grades were also rejected from entry under such excuses as “Incomplete Filing”.
