Forty-Five Students Censured from Continuing Education in Isfehan Industrial University

In the past week, sixteen students from Isfehan Industrial University have been summoned to appear before the Disciplinary Committee in the Ministry of Education.
The students stood before the Committee and, in their own defense, presented supporting documents. The Committee has not issued any ruling on the students’ cases and has postponed its decision to next week.
Readers are reminded that, in the meantime, these students have not been allowed to register for courses during the current school year, and are not even allowed to enter the university’s campus.
Twenty-nine other students from the university have been suspended from studies for anywhere from one to two terms, and they are also not allowed to enter the university grounds. The issuance of a total of forty-five suspensions in this university is regarded unprecedented throughout its establishment.
This year’s school opening, coinciding with the death of Mohammad-Javad Poradakh, added to a tense situation in the university, and any attempts to protest or publish critical articles have not been tolerated, and students face severe backlashes.
According to some information made available by students who have appeared before the Committee, it is likely that some of the university personnel will also be forced to appear before the Ministry of Intelligence.
A widespread wave of summons issued to students is in progress across the country, in which hundreds of students have either been called before Disciplinary Committees or subjected to questioning by Intelligence and judicial organizations.
