Chairman of Gilan Branch of Iran Student Organization Detained

Seyed Kouhzad-Esmaili, chairman of the Gilan Branch of the Iran Student Organization (Strengthening Unity), appeared in the detention center of the provincial Ministry of Intelligence in Gilan of his own volition at 3:00 AM on Wednesday, November 4th.
The decision was made two days after Intelligence agents went to Mr. Kouhzad-Esmaili’s place of business and, after conducting a search, confiscated his computer equipment, his business contracts and his checkbooks. Also, it has been reported that Intelligence agents have contacted Mr. Kouhzad-Esmaili’s mother and threatened her, in order that she would convince her son to give himself up and report to the Ministry.
