By IHRV | November 15, 2009

On November 11, a court session started for 48 detainees from a November 4 protest held in the city of Shiraz.  The court assigned release bonds for all of the detainees other than the student detainees.  The detained students’ court session was postponed until next Sunday.  The prosecutor for the city of Shiraz told the students’ parents there is a possibility for an extension of the students’ incarceration until December 7.

The detained students are Saeed Rezaei, Ahmad Aref, Khayber Safarpour, Ayoub Pourfathi, Ehsan Poursultan and Abu Alharari, and they are being held in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.  Kazem Rezaei is another detained student who is on the third day of a hunger strike.  Like other students, Mr. Kazem Rezaei was also being held in Adelabad Prison, but he was later moved to the Ministry of Intelligence detention center in Shiraz, also known as Block 100.
