Master Shajarian Summoned to Ministry of Intelligence

The lawyer representing Mohammad-Reza Shajarian, master of Persian music, announced Mr. Shajarian’s summoning before the Ministry of Intelligence as Mr. Shajarian returned to country.
The lawyer, Mohammad-Hossein Aghasi, underscored that two Saturdays ago, after master Shajarian’s return from his trip, intelligence agents stationed in the airport asked him to appear in the Ministry’s building on Jordan Street to respond to some queries by the agency. Mr. Aghasi added: “Master Shajarian appeared in the given location the following Monday to hold a discussion with the authorities which lasted for two and a half hours, and during the discussion he defended his position as usual.”
Mr. Aghasi said the discussion ended in an amicable way, and added: “According to the law, I can not divulge the details of the discussions, but one of the items that was discussed was master Shajarian’s recent interview with Voice of America.”
