Kohzad Esmaili Detained Again

By IHRV | November 19, 2009

Yesterday, Kohzad Esmaili, chairman of the Advar Tahkim Vahdat (Office of Strengthening Unity) Gilan branch, was released from detention after posting a bond for 20,000 USD.  This morning, after Mr. Esmaili returned to the investigation branch, he was placed under arrest again.

The reasons provided for his arrest included an enforcement of his four-month jail sentencing.  Mr. Esmaili had received the sentencing in November of 2007, and this morning, only hours after his release, he was sent to prison based on a judge’s order.
