Sakineh Farsangi, a chemistry major and an executive member of the Islamic Student Society in this university, in her last term of study was expelled for two terms in an initial ruling issued by the university disciplinary committee.  During an appeals session by the committee, the order was reduced to a one-term expulsion and another term of suspension.

Also, in another ruling, Masoud Salehi, a freshman student majoring in chemistry, was also expelled for two terms, and his dismissal was also suggested.  During an appeals session by the disciplinary committee, his expulsion was upheld and it was suggested that he transfer to another school.  In the committee’s ruling, the transfer location was not specified.  The ruling is considered final, and is not subject to amendment.
