Detention Order of Heshmatullah Tabarzadi Extended

Last December 28, following the events from religious holidays of Tasua and Ashura, Heshmatullah Tabarzadi, a political activist was detained by five agents from Ministry of Intelligence in his residence, and he was taken to section 209 inside Evin Prison. The court stationed inside the prison extended detention order of Mr. Tabarzadi, for an indefinite period of time.
Last Thursday, Mr. Tabarzadi, received a visit from his son, and during the visit Mr. Tabarzadi, told his son that charges laid against him are considered political and according to article 168 in the constitution, his trial must be held in a public court and in presence of a panel of jurors.
In connection with Mr. Tabarzadi’s case, his lawyer also stated: “His case is with branch 12 of investigation”.
