By IHRV | July 29, 2008
Ronak Safarzadeh, a human rights activists particularly active in women rights who was detained on 3/7/1386 (May 28, 2007) by security guards in the city of Sanandaj, has been transferred to a hospital outside prison due to physical ailment.
Doctors attending to Ms. Safarzadeh’s ailment diagnosed this as an infection in her digestive system. In spite of numerous complaints by Ms. Safarzadeh about a lack of proper medical facilities, especially in the women’s section of prison, her plight had gone unheard of and no action had been taken to treat her. As a reminder, the charges against Ms. Safarzadeh are still not clear, and she is being held under ambiguous charges of activities against nation security in the central prison of Sanandaj.
